LNG / LPG Vaporizers

LPG or LNG cargo vaporizers are used to gas-up and pressurize cargo tanks on gas carriers. Farad can fabricate LPG or LNG vaporizers to order. Gas flows in the tubes and the hot medium flows in the shell. The hot medium is seawater, water and glycol mixture or steam.

Application

A liquefied cargo vaporizer is on every gas carrier. The same design is applied to vaporizers that vaporize liquid fuels from land based storage vessels.

Materials

Materials are sourced from reputable EU and US manufacturers and material thickness is higher than that required by the relevant design code. The heat exchanger is designed to have a long service life. Special anti-corrosion alloys are used especially in sea water operation.

Design

Industry leading heat exchanger design software is licensed to Farad to establish heat exchanger dimensions as well as material thickness. Applicable codes are ASME division VIII or EN 13445, TEMA, IGC and the relevant classification society.

Approvals

Third party approval based on customer requirement. All marine classification society approvals may be given. Conformed to Directive 2014/68/EU PED (EN13445-5) and ASME VIII Div.1
