Box Cooler is a U-tube bundle heat exchanger that exploits natural convection. Located inside a sea chest (with inlet & outlet grids) within the vessel’s hull, it uses the sea water as coolant fluid by the natural circulation of the outboard water or due to forced circulation by the speed of the vessel.
All sizes are available on inquiry and optimized to vessel’s sea chest design and engine’s cooling requirements.
Materials are sourced from reputable EU manufacturers and material thickness is higher than that required by the relevant design code. The heat exchanger is designed to have a long service life. Tubes material available as uncoated CuNi 90/10 and Aluminum Brass with special hot-cured phenolic resin based coating (outside). Tube sheet available as Naval Brass or CuNi 90/10.
Industry leading heat exchanger software is used to find the required heat exchanger dimensions based on customer requirements. Each heat exchanger is made to order, therefore engineered with an optimized thermal and mechanical design.
Third party approval based on customer requirement. All marine classification society approvals may be given
2-4 week upon order receipt and drawing approval – confirmation.
